It's an old rustic place. Old and beautiful but still old. The rooms feel old. The compound feels old. When you visit an old place you feel old but wise. And you expect things that have aged. But still old is wise and beautiful.

The rooms feel homely like you have visited the old place you grew up knowing. So you feel like you are at home. From the outside the rooms look modern, new and recent. But from inside the wardrobe, the bed, the furniture is old.

The mawimbi restaurant serves breakfast that is modern. English breakfast but everybody looks like they are old.

It feels good in a secluded area. No much human traffic apart from the workers but still the grass is not watered nor trimmed to beautiful lawns.

The swimming pool. Mmh. My biggest problem. Despite the low human traffic and use I couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The water was foggy. Looked slimy so I avoided it. Lest I carry something along from it.

I think I will go back again just to confirm my experience or bust it.

We begged for hours for the room to be cleaned.

On the second day of the stay we were told we need to move since someone else has come and booked the room

The fridges a too dusty and rusty. The TV it too tiny and doesn't work. The WiFi doesn't work inside the rooms also.

The chef was friendly though.

Overall if you need to enjoy your stay in diani don't go to this place.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great location and fantastic budget option for staying right on Diani Beach. There were a few minor cons such as lack of bedside lights, meaning walking across the (nicely spacious) rooms in the dark to turn the lights off. The mosquito nets were full of taped up holes. The shower had low/zero pressure. The runner for the mosquito blind to the balcony was broken. The breakfast wasn't great.

Aside from that, as another said, it would likely be double the price if all these things were fixed. I'd still stay there again if on a budget as location is perfect and at low tide you can walk along the entire length of the beach.

Only other downside we had was a friendly staff member asking for our number to keep in touch, only to then message us once we'd checked out asking for us to send them money. I won't name them as I would hate them to lose their job, but as a business they should put a stop to it as it could put people off staying there altogether longer-term and then they'd all be without a job, which would be devastating for them I'm sure.
